Here are several thoughts I have bout how we should approach Battle Royale as a guild.
- Don’t declare war unless you know that there are at least two other players available and ready to fight.
The reason for this is simple: unless the other guild just doesn’t show up, soloing a battle is pretty much going to be a guaranteed loss. And the losing guild always LOSES BR points after the battle. - Don’t declare war if you are low on PP and aren’t committed to playing for the next 70 minutes.
This is similar to the above. If you aren’t able to play through a battle, you shouldn’t be declaring war. We’ve won a few battles because someone on the other guild declared war and left the game, leaving their guild defenseless. We’ve also lost a few battles for the same reason. - If you are planning to do some real fighting, post a “Checking in” message on the guild message board along with an estimate of how long you plan on playing.
Be sure to post a “checking out” message as well.
If you have limited PP and just want to jump in and place a couple of hits without sticking around, there’s no need to check in. - If there are 6 or more people available for battle, knock down the enemy’s ramparts first!
Rampart busting is a double-edged sword. You don’t get a lot of BR points for hitting the ramparts, but once they are down, everyone gets the full points for attacking guild members.
Ideally, we should have several guild members on hand with rampart busting skill cards. Properly equipped, all 50,000 point rampart can be downed in ten hits. If everyone takes a couple of whacks at the rampart, everyone will reap the rewards.
If the plan is to take out the ramparts, don’t bother with any of the guild members until they are down. Remember, as long as the ramparts are up, you only get HALF the battle points. So if the plan is to knock them all down, finish that first and then go after the defense leader.
